Katin (Syrah, Viognier, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc)
KATIN is derived from the combination of winemaker/owner Justin and his wife Katie's names and is one of two labels produced by the JK Wine Company. KATIN wines embody true vineyard expressions, varietal characteristics and an unparalleled wine drinking experience. The KATIN label is focused on classic Rhône varietals; Viognier, Roussanne, Grenache Blanc, and Syrah. Our white wines are produced from vineyards in the heart of the Paso Robles westside Templeton Gap; a depression found in the Santa Lucia Mountain Range that allows cool marine air to flow in off the Pacific Ocean. These grapes further benefit from growing in the exposed, white chalky calcareous soils to produce wines with balance, marked acidity, and expressive flavors. Our three single vineyard Syrahs are produced from California appellations; Paso Robles, Chalone, as well as, Oregon's Rogue Valley. Each vineyard is an exceptional site for expressing true Syrah.
